Closed Circuit races for the WSW youth riders

A massive number of 248 youth riders turned up at the Hog Hill circuit at Redbridge for round 2 of the Lee Valley youth racing programme on Saturday. The under 12/14/ 16 events had around 60 riders and the programme covered the age range from under 8 through to under 16’s

The first Wheelers to race in the U10s and face Hog Hill on the final lap were Charlie Knowler (25th) and Victoria Asker (32nd 2nd Girl)

The next to Race was Sam Asker in the U14's and racing the full circuit for around 30 minutes, he managed to stick with the lead bunch throughout the race and finished a creditable 9th in his first race as an under 14.

The final WSW to ride was Matt Asker who put in a spirited effort but was dropped by the bunch midway through the race.

About the West Suffolk Wheelers
  • The West Suffolk Wheelers cycling club was formed in 1922 and is based in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. We have a good cross-section of cycling on offer to welcome new and experienced cyclists alike. If you wish to learn bike handling skills for on and/or off-road cycling our members have the knowledge and experience to teach you. The Club is proud of it's development work with young people, and we have coaches to guide new cyclists in their training.
