WSW Open 21m TT Report

The West Suffolk Wheelers Cycling Club kicked of their 2004 promotions with a hilly 21 mile time trial last Saturday (13-03-04). This is a popular early season test for the riders and with 37 entries this year the promoting club were once again rewarded for the efforts.

There were several local riders in the field, including five from the promoting club. Brian Starr was the best placed finisher from the WSW, finishing in 6th place, just ahead of another WSW rider, Dave Giffin. Other local riders included: Keith Richardson (Midenhall CC) who finished in 13th spot; Vivian Smith (WSW) in 16th place; Celia Newman (WSW) in 26th and Jacqueline Kay (WSW) in 29th place.

About the West Suffolk Wheelers
  • The West Suffolk Wheelers cycling club was formed in 1922 and is based in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. We have a good cross-section of cycling on offer to welcome new and experienced cyclists alike. If you wish to learn bike handling skills for on and/or off-road cycling our members have the knowledge and experience to teach you. The Club is proud of it's development work with young people, and we have coaches to guide new cyclists in their training.
