Dunmow Triathlon 12/09/2010

5 West Suffolk Tri club members took part with over 300 competitors; they worked hard and achieved yet more positive results with 2 making the top 10. The course consisted of a 400m swim, 23km bike and a 5km run. The course was very hilly with blustery yet sunny Autumnal conditions.

 

 

 

Martin Wilson came an impressive 9th overall with a time of 1hr 12:35, and being his first year of triathlon events he had a tremendous result of 1st in age category.

Mick Unsworth had a good race and completed the course in 1 hr 23.31, 72nd placement overall, 23rd in his age category.

Mandy Bunn and Steve Bull had good form with this also their first season of triathlon they have produced good placings.

Mandy completed the course in 1 hr 29:39 coming 125th overall, however she came 9th in her age cat and 12th female overall.

Steve completed the course in 1 hr 40:13, 189th overall, and 50th in his age cat.

Highest placing of the day went to Ben Mickleburgh who came 2nd overall with an impressive time of 1hr06:57, and 1st in his age category.

All in all great results again for West Suffolk Wheelers and Tri club.

About the West Suffolk Wheelers
  • The West Suffolk Wheelers cycling club was formed in 1922 and is based in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. We have a good cross-section of cycling on offer to welcome new and experienced cyclists alike. If you wish to learn bike handling skills for on and/or off-road cycling our members have the knowledge and experience to teach you. The Club is proud of it's development work with young people, and we have coaches to guide new cyclists in their training. We are active in all areas of cycling including: Road Racing, Time Trials, Track Racing, Club Runs,Touring, Audax, Sportive, Mountain Biking and Cyclo-cross. Members also compete in triathlon competitions; the Club is recently affiliated to Triathlon England, and new triathlete members are welcomed
