Evening series press report

With seven events completed, the West Suffolk Wheelers evening Time Trial series is half way through.

Dale Sturman is continuing to display excellent form, winning the Lt. Welnetham 8.5 mile event in 21m.44s, beating Dave Giffin into second place with 22m06s. Dale was betting into second place in the next event at West Stow by guest rider Brian Philips, who won with 25m05s. Again Dave Giffin finished third.

This pattern continued into the next event at Higham. Dale Sturman won with 24m46s, Dave Giffin was second with 25m13s and first year senior David Young finished third in 28m43s.

Poor weather led to a poor turnout in the following weeks event at Horringer, with only seven riders competing. This time it was Richard Farrow turn to finish second to Brian Philips (27m11s to 24m08s)

Normal service was resumed at the Lt. Welnetham, with Dale Sturman leading David Giffin and Richard Farrow taking the top three spots.

The West Stow 10m event on the 17-06-04 included the annual handicap championships. Riders times are adjusted according their average speeds in previous events, and the fastest rider on handicap on the night was Jaqueline Kay with 32m13s, adjusted to 18m05s. Dale, David and Richard were the fastest on actual time.

The current league positions show David Young (322) leading Dale Sturman (299) and James Eastwood (295).
