We set off from Bury at 0900 hours on a route through Westley Road, Little Saxham, eastwards to Stetchworth and then a tea stop at Newmarket. We headed back through Red lodge, Cavenham, Risby and returned to Bury about 12:45
The first thirty minutes was steady paced and a good warm up. After a few sprints to the outskirts of villages, we were up to a rapid but manageable speed. There were several attacks from solo breakaways and much chasing by a well organised bunch who caught the break outside Newmarket which worked out well for a tea stop.
Back on the road we gradually built the speed up again riding through Risby, along Newmarket road and finishing back in town.
I guess we did about 60 Miles, rode smart, trained hard, had a lot of fun, and the pace never went out of control. It was a great morning, thanks.
