Three members competed in the mountain bike race at Taverham Hall School, nr Norwich. Robin Lines (pictured) making his mtb race debut finished an excellent 5^th in the 45 minute youth race.

Later in the senior race, Dick Lines, also making his debut, finished a very creditable 33^rd. Paul Barry (truanting from the Cyclo-Cross at Davy Down) finished 22nd.

The course Youth and Senior course was technically challenging (more so than the average CX course) with plenty of climbing, singletrack, roots, mud and swooping descends. The mud added to the technical demands and meant more effort was required to maintain momentum. There was a 'chicken run' to avoid the most technically challenging section but at the cost of a few seconds.

This is a great series particularly aimed at younger age categories and older riders new to mountain bike racing.
