Richard Muchmore (Revel Outdoors), taking a break from cyclo-cross, rode in the 4 hour race on his trusty single speed.  After putting in two very decent laps the course began to cut up badly due to a large field of some 700 riders and the adverse weather conditions. From then on, he began to struggle as his legs became progressively colder due to being unable to turn the pedals at anything above about 5 rpm in the muddy conditions.  After three and half laps, sense finally prevailed and Richard returned to his car to thaw out and enjoy a well deserved cheese sandwich. For the record he finished   32^nd (from 43) in the Veteran category.  In the 2 hour race, Richard Emmerson (Team Flow/West Suffolk Wheelers) finished 38^th (from 160) in the veteran category.  A heavy cold caused the late withdrawal of Jeremy Waterstone.
