Triathlon Race Results

Generally one of the first triathlons of the season, the East Coast Triathlon is a shorter pool based sprint triathlon which consists of a 250m swim, 16km cycle and 3km run.  Considering the awful weather we have had recently; Sunday morning in Great Yarmouth was sunny and made for a dry, albeit it slightly blustery, event.

The West Suffolk Wheelers and Triathlon Club had two entrants who completed this early season event in style; Lee Sole and Steve Bull.  For Sole, everything came together on the day and a strong performance saw him take 2nd place overall in 00:45:13 being beaten to 1st by former Wheeler; Ben Mickleburgh by just under a minute.  Bull also achieved a great result which saw him take 43rd overall and 2nd in his age group in a finishing time of 00:59:02.

Wheelers member Chris Wiseman recently competed in the Cambridge Duathlon, a championship qualifying event that usually attracts a strong field.  Wiseman completed the 7.5km run, 40km bike and final 7.5km run in a time of 2:25:05 which awarded him 114th position overall and 19th in his age group.
