Alan Trolove’s excellent form is continuing and with a very busy racing schedule he is racking up a great points total in British Cycling’s rankings, recently up as high as ninth overall for U16’s nationwide.
This weekend he is one of four riders representing the Eastern Region in an inter-regional U16 event in Perthshire, Scotland, comprising a Team Trial and two 60k road stages. Last weekend he rode the Welwyn Track League on Friday evening, with a third place in one race in the Adult A group, then road an E/1/2/3 adult race at Hogg Hill on Saturday, finishing 19th and then rode the Colchester Grass Track on Sunday. In this he was challenging for the lead on the last lap of the main 8k race when he crashed into Chesterfield’s Richard Lambert, fell, remounted and still finished 5th. For his efforts he won the Overall Omnium, based on all results during the day, coming home with £55 prize money. This was even better than the previous week when he finished 4th in the National Series 8k allcomers event, and pocketed£35 !
Well done Alan for flying the club colours so well, not to mention Sheila’s efforts in facilitating his relentless racing exploits.
