Two of our promising young riders did us proud over the Easter Weekend.
Will Mapus-Smith is in his first full season of racing after a hard winter’s training and is already showing the sort of form that has been observed on club runs. Competing against a strong field of competitive Under 16’s at the Redbridge Hogg Hill Circuit Will came in a very creditable fifth, and is certainly making an impression. Watch out for his results as the season progresses.
Meanwhile Alan Trolove was making his debut at the famous Good Friday Track Meeting at Herne Hill. Now riding as a first year Junior Alan took part in the Open Scratch race and finished in the top 20, and then excelled himself in the Devil (Elimination Race). Forty riders started with two tail enders eliminated each lap until eight remained. Riding with experience beyond his years he survived all the cuts and fished sixth overall.
Great riding Lads !
