Trish Goulden again set new club and personal records with her marathon effort in the ECCA 100 mile time trial held on Sunday. With a start time of 5:17 am from Ugley, Trish’s time of 4:24:11 again capped a fine weekend for further Wheelers’ success in this discipline.
At the Victoria CC 10 mile time trial held on Saturday, David Howes’s time of 26:39 and Ron Back’s time of 26:57 were both enough for age category wins.
Other Wheelers’ taking part were Henry Wood (27:01); Jim greenwood (28:35 and Gerry Barton (31:12).
The club were also in action at the inter club 10 mile time trial hosted by neighbours Cycle Club Sudbury on 19th June. Held over the out and back course between Lavenham and Chilton, the top 5 riders from each club counted towards the overall result.
The individual event was won by Simon Wright of CC Sudbury in a time of 22:41, with the host club winning the overall team event.
Top 5 Wheelers were Darren Davis (8th, 24:19); Boy Nicholas (9th, 24:35); Richard Farrow (10th, 24:46), Sarah Wells (13th, 25:58), Ron Back (14th, 25:59).
