Cycling Time Trials
Norwich ABC hosted a 10mile Time Trial on Saturday on the B10/43 course along the A143 between Harleston and Bungay.
Despite a head wind on the outward leg, the good conditions generally favoured the West Suffolk Wheelers & Triathlon Club contingent, with Darren Davis making short work of the course to finish first Wheeler in an impressive 24:08. David Howes’s rich vein of form continues, his 25:20 a fine effort. Ron Back, battling back from illness, posted 25:46 with club mates John Coles (27:00) and Jim Greenwood (27:15) riding well.
Junior Aquathlon

The final race in this season’s Eastern Region League was the relocated and rescheduled Nice Tri children’s’ Aquathlon held in the River Ouse and Riverside Park in St. Neots on Saturday.

Open Water Swimming
Every Saturday from 7.30 am to 9.00am (no entry after 8.30)
Run by Cambridge Sport Lakes Trust this is a opportunity to fine tune your open water swimming technique before your next Triathlon or swimming event. The session costs just £4.00 and includes a safety boat on the lake at all times. All we ask is that you can swim 400m freestyle without rest and be able to tread water easily. Why not cycle to the park, swim in the lake and then take advantage of Parkrun being here too and compete in your own mini triathlon every Saturday.

Cyclocross training
Maglia Rosso are pleased to announce that their CycloCross track is ready for training use. We have prepared a one-mile circuit on the field behind the shop/café incorporating most of the features that you encounter in competition including undulations, tight left and right bends, tight single track in the trees, dismounts, up and down banks, sandpit and a bridge across the pond. It’s hard work, but good fun and excellent training. (Future features may include steps and even some pave).
It is open to WSW&TC members and non-affiliated cyclists of all ages on CX or mountain bikes, and use is FREE, but everyone needs to sign an indemnity (at the shop) before using the course, and under 18’s need signed parental consent, and everyone needs to wear a cycling helmet.
It is normally open only 9-5.30 everyday, but for the next few weeks we are also opening it for use on TUESDAY EVENINGS, 6-7.30ish.
So come over and give it a try ~ it’s not just aimed at those intending to race CycloCross ~ everyone can improve their bike skills and have some fun too.
