Farrow and Gilham-Fernandez win season long time trial trophies

With over 50 riders competing in this year’s season long time-trial series Richard Farrow and Zoila Gilham-Fernandez have both retained their titles of male and female West Suffolk Wheelers Time Trial series champions.

With points awarded from 1^st to 19^th place, Farrow consistently finished in the top 3 throughout the year, with 5 wins, accumulating a massive 404, with Paul Rooke in 2^nd with 218 and David Young placed 3^rd on 212.  Gilham-Fernandez accumulated 117 points which was not only enough for her to be the best placed female rider, but also put her in 11^th place overall.

Perhaps more impressive was that Farrow has also won the Collard Shield which is also a points based trophy with points awarded for competing in each event and bonus points for personal best times achieved over individual courses.  As a 42 year old veteran who has been racing for 25 years, to have achieved 8 personal bests over 7 different courses is quite a feat.  Farrow accumulated 78 points, with Gilham-Fernandez finishing 2^nd with 73 points and 7 personal bests, with Young again finishing 3^rd with 63 points and 4 pb’s.
