Club Membership Fees are due now

A new form can be found on the website but the good news is that fees stay the same for 2013

Note: There were some additions to Club Rules at the last AGM to clarify the meaning of first and second claim membership and the new form asks you to make it clear if you are joining as first or second claim. Please complete the form in full.

 

Here I paste the relevant paras from Club Rules:

4a. Categories of Membership:

First Claim Adult Member, with voting rights and eligibility for trophies (concessionary subscriptions for retired and unwaged).

First Claim Under 18 Member, no voting rights but eligible for trophies.

First Claim Family Membership, comprising married or civil partnerships, and offspring under 18 years of age, or under 21 if in full time education. One vote per partner, full eligibility for trophies.

Second Claim Member, with no voting rights, ineligible for trophies.

 

4b.  Eligibility for Membership: First Claim membership is available to everyone, except those that are, or who become during their membership of WSW&TC, first claim members of another club or team that is affiliated to British Cycling, Cycling Time Trials or The British Triathlon Federation. Such persons are eligible for (or can revert to) Second claim membership.

4c. If First Claim members compete in any competitive cycling, triathlon or duathlon event they must represent the West Suffolk Wheelers and Triathlon Club, and are encouraged to wear appropriate club kit, except where selected to  represent a regional or national team, or are obliged to wear kit supplied by the event organiser.

All club members are encouraged to wear club kit on club runs.

  • The West Suffolk Wheelers cycling club was formed in 1922 and is based in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. We have a good cross-section of cycling on offer to welcome new and experienced cyclists alike. If you wish to learn bike handling skills for on and/or off-road cycling our members have the knowledge and experience to teach you. The Club is proud of it's development work with young people, and we have coaches to guide new cyclists in their training. We are active in all areas of cycling including: Road Racing, Time Trials, Track Racing, Club Runs,Touring, Audax, Sportive, Mountain Biking and Cyclo-cross. Members also compete in triathlon competitions; the Club is recently affiliated to Triathlon England, and new triathlete members are welcomed
