The first of our four-week series took place on Friday evening November 2 and despite competition from several fireworks events, we had 11 members taking part. For those that don’t know we use four Watt Bikes loaned to us by Cycle Suffolk, which in addition to giving the riders lots of electronic feedback in respect of speed, power, cadence and much more, they are also linked to a computer display, so that we can race them, in the clubroom!

After a bit of familiarisation with the equipment and riders warming up we held heats of the 100 metre challenge and then finals according to positions. We then stepped up the effort with 500 metre heats and finals. That was enough for most participants, but I’m sure they’ll be back for more next week, with some extra riders hopefully. 7 for 7.30 start. £2 per head, u18s free.
