Risby 10 10/5/12

Luckily the rain had stopped and 38 riders took part in the new Risby time trial course for this season with starts in Risby-Flemton-Lackford-Cavenham-Risby.

In 3rd place was Dale Sturman with a 20.36, 2nd was Paul Jay from Velovelocity.co.uk with a 20.08 and winning the event by 4seconds was Ben Mickleburgh also from velovelocity.co.uk.

Lt.Welnetham 8.9 tt

On a windy, but dry night 35 riders took part in the Lt.Welnetham 8.9mile course. There was headwind up to Cockfield Green, tailwind down to Felsham Green and Cross wind from Felsham back to the finish near Lt.Welnetham.

In 3rd place was Dale Sturman with a 21.51 and in 2nd and 1st place were two Velo Velocity.co.uk riders Paul Jay with a 21.37 and the winner Ben Mickleburgh with a 21.30

Triathlon Race Results

Generally one of the first triathlons of the season, the East Coast Triathlon is a shorter pool based sprint triathlon which consists of a 250m swim, 16km cycle and 3km run.  Considering the awful weather we have had recently; Sunday morning in Great Yarmouth was sunny and made for a dry, albeit it slightly blustery, event.

Barbrooke takes 14th at European Championships

Adi Barbrooke has been in action once again representing Great Britain, this time at the European Championships in Israel. The competition was held in Eilat, on the Red Sea, where temperatures are in the 30's at this time of year. Fortunately Barbrooke's wave set off at 7am when the temperature was a managable 20 degrees although by the time he finished it was just beginning to get uncomfortable.

Horringer 7.7tt 19/4/12

With rain surrounding the 7.7mile course on Thursday 32 riders took part in the time trial and did not get wet. In third place with a 18.21 was junior rider Alan Trolove, in second place was Richard Farrow with a 18.00 and winning the event from Milldenhall CC was Richard Carrington with a 17.55.

  • The West Suffolk Wheelers cycling club was formed in 1922 and is based in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. We have a good cross-section of cycling on offer to welcome new and experienced cyclists alike.
