Sudbury CC rider Simon Wright stormed up the twin peaks of Dalham, beating WSW rider Lee Sole to the Interclub Hill Climb 2010, contested between riders from West Suffolk Wheelers, Haverhill Wheelers and Sudbury CC

Annual Hill Climb Time Trial

This coming Sunday October 17

With inter-club challenge against Haverhill and Sudbury

We need a good turn-out of riders to compete for the club, irrespective of ability ~ we hope the club runs will come over and some riders participate

Two hills, one a long drag, one short and sharp.

10am for 10.30 start at Kennet River Bridge on Ashley to Gazeley Road

Ipswich Duathlon

19/09/2010 - Ipswich Triathlon Club

2 West Suffolk Wheelers and Tri members took part in the Ipswich Duathlon last Sunday.  The course was based around Alton Water Park in Suffolk and consisted of a 5km run, 23km bike and another 5km run.

Paul Rooke finished in a time of 01:30:17 in 37th place and had a very quick bike leg of 00:40:33 (6th fastest bike split).

Martin Wilson finished in a time of 01:20:13 in 7th place and received a medal for 1st in age category.  Martin made an improvement on his 2009 time at this event of 13 minutes and 38 seconds.

Dunmow Triathlon 12/09/2010

5 West Suffolk Tri club members took part with over 300 competitors; they worked hard and achieved yet more positive results with 2 making the top 10. The course consisted of a 400m swim, 23km bike and a 5km run. The course was very hilly with blustery yet sunny Autumnal conditions.

  • The West Suffolk Wheelers cycling club was formed in 1922 and is based in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. We have a good cross-section of cycling on offer to welcome new and experienced cyclists alike.
