Inter Club Time Trial-28th June
Wheelers Dominate, but Sudbury take the prize
Despite taking four of the top five places the West Suffolk Wheelers came out second best in the annual Inter Club Time Trial Championship between the Wheelers, Cycle Club Sudbury (CCS) and the Haverhill Wheelers (HW).
Points were awarded per rider with 50 points for first place , 49 for second and so on. With the Wheelers only fielding seven riders, it was sheer numbers that gave Sudbury the overall victory with a total of 555 points, with West Suffolk scoring 311 and Haverhill 224.The individual prize went to on form Dale Sturman with a time of 18mins 33secs for the eight mile hilly course around Lavenham. Ex-Wheeler and guest riding for Haverhill, Ben Micklebourgh took second with 18mins 46, with Paul Rooke finishing third.
