On Saturday August 17 seventeen members and three guests enjoyed a two hour session at the Gosling Velodrome at Welwyn Garden City. Riders included eight youngsters and nine adults with limited or no track experience and everyone really enjoyed the session. After getting familiar with fixed wheel, no brakes and the banked surface of the 500 metre tarmac track we were able to get all riders taking part in skill and speed developing exercises.

All members are reminded that there is a regular Friday night race League held at Welwyn, with races for juveniles and adults and this league has brought forth very many top riders, most recently a certain Laura Trott ! West Suffolk members have regularly been represented in this League, with young Sam Asker and Fraser Elsworth currently our only regulars. Perhaps next summer we can increase our representation ~ it certainly is a very enjoyable, competitive and safe discipline.
