The event is being held on Sunday 25th September 2016. EVENT SOLD OUT! Entry will open via Entry Central from 0700 Thursday 4th February. EVENT SOLD OUT! http://www.entrycentral.com/index.php?raceID=101388 Please ensure you read the terms and conditions carefully when entering the event. The event is being run under the rules of the British Triathlon. EVENT SOLD OUT! Entry will be £31 for Triathlon England/Wales/Scotland members, and £36 for all non-members to cover the cost of a day licence. Entry is open to anyone who will be 16 and above on the day of the event date. The EventThe Triathlon comprises of a 300m pool swim, 18km bike ride and 5km run. The bike section is an undulating country route, and the run section is mostly off road and virtually flat. SwimThe 300m swim section uses the Mid Suffolk Leisure Centre 25m pool. Swimmers undertake the 300m swim, starting at half-minute intervals, swimming up and down each lane, and then moving under the lane ropes into the next lane. Swimmers are seeded according to their stated swim time so it is important to be as accurate as you can with this detail. It will be possible to amend this time nearer the event. Transition 1At the ends of the swim section competitors move to the transition area across the Mid Suffolk Leisure Centre Car Park to collect their bike. Helmets must be fitted before moving the bike. The mount and dismount lines will be clearly marked and marshalled. BikeThe 18km bike course is on quiet country roads however there are two right turns which are compulsory stop and foot down points on the outward leg. Failure to comply fully with the foot downs will result in disqualification. Riders are expected to follow the rules of the Highway Code. No helmet no ride (Helmets must meet safety standards, no head fairings, and be properly tightened at the chin – see Triathlon England website for details). Your number must be clearly visible from the back so marshals and timekeepers can record results. Transition 2At the end of the bike course, the bike is placed back in the transition area in the allotted racking, and the run section begins. RunThe 5km run section crosses Chilton Road and enters public footpaths. This crossing will be marshalled, but it is the responsibility of the competitor to ensure the crossing is safe before crossing the road. Two laps of the course are run, with the finish at the end of the south section of the run. Your number must be clearly visible from the front during the run section so marshals and timekeepers can record results. Last Updated (Sunday, 18 September 2016 17:12) West Suffolk Triathlon - ResultsThese are now the final results for the 2014 West Suffolk Triathlon. Congratulations to our overall, age group and novice winners, and thanks to you all for taking part. The weather really helped, but we’ve had loads of positive feedback from competitors and from the Race Official. Our marshals really pulled out the stops and as a club we are really delighted and proud of how well our event went. The only minor changes we plan to make for next year is to increase the spacing between the bikes in transition, and to consider giving medals to all finishers. Next year’s event will be on 27/09/2015. We hope to see you all again. Photos of the event are available free to view and download in two sets: Picasa (900 photos) https://picasaweb.google.com/105706635610860019489/WestSuffolkTriathlon2014 Flickr (908 photos) https://www.flickr.com/photos/97792528@N02/sets/72157648133675091/ Best wishes Julian Colman
