First and Third for Triathletes at Eton
Another very successful weekend for Two of the Wheelers New Triathlete members...
Julia Jepson was 1st lady in a field of 176 women of all ages in the 3/4 distance Tri held at the Olympic Rowing lake at Dorney near Eton. The Shock Absorber sponsored event saw over 2000 women taking part in various distance tri's with the challange event attracting many regular triathletes.
Coming in first in her wave ( 40+ and U30 women) wasn't her only win as her time also meant she beat all second wave competitors in the 30 - 39 age group to put her top in the event.
Paul Horsley competed the next day in the Steelman race ( 1500m swim - 40K bike - 10K run ) and thanks to an excellent bike section crept up through the field so that by the end of the run section his fast last Km held off the challenging fourth place athlete who had been hot on his heels. Paul crossed the line in 2.32.51 and received his prize for third place in his wave.
This is a fantastic venue for triathlons, clear clean lake, smooth, car free, flat bike course and run section. Great for all abilities and spectators alike.
