Club Rides
The WSW has club rides for all abilities and is a good way meeting like minded individuals. It improves your riding technique and gives you confidence in riding within a group which can be 20% more efficient than cycling by yourself! There are five regular club runs that go every week, all year round - just turn up and ride. Club runs are social rides with a "no-drop" policy, but please make sure you choose a ride that matches your ability. All rides (except the Saturday Latte) have a coffee stop and are lead by a volunteer ride leader. Routes change with the wind, so no two weeks are the same. Note: all riders take part at their own risk. Visit the Ride Etiquette Guide for some useful info

Club ride to Wells YHA weekendThirteen members set off for Wells Youth Hostel on the Norfolk coast on Saturday 19 September. The aim was for a pleasant, relaxing weekend awheel, organised most ably by Mark Eastwood, assisted in route finding by John Steed. A coolish start improved to warm sun and light northerly winds, which set the trend for the weekend. Other riders were Chris and Will Curtin, Soren and Jonathan Sjolin, Alan Trolove, Lindsay Clayton, Dick Lines, David Young, Richard Seggar, Will Newland and Peter Heath. Familiar roads took the group to East Harling but then we headed along quiet lanes for Hingham, just north of Attleborough, for an excellent lunch at Lincoln's tea room on the picturesque village green. Just 30 miles from Bury St Edmunds, Hingham would make an ideal Club run stop. Last Updated (Friday, 25 September 2009 19:42) |
