Latest news from our Competitive riders

The most recent round of the Eastern Cross League at Hillyfields, Colchester, saw just two Wheelers competing. Alan Trolove had his best result of the season so far with a second place in the U16 race, whilst Adi Grimwood came home 26th in the Vets and Ladies race. Last weekend Alan was our only representative in the National Series CycloCoss round held at Chantry Park in Ipswich. Against National competition Alan finished 24th, a big improvement on his placing at the preceding Derby round.

This coming weekend Alan is representing the Eastern Region in the Inter Region Challenge in the Midlands in the U16 category. At the other end of the age spectrum, Adi Grimwood, Steve Newman and Barry Denny are competing at the LVRC Track Championships at the Newport Velodrome.

Breaking news is that Esther Colman, whose enthusiasm was given a much needed boost by competing at the National Schools Games in the summer, has now been selected as one of the juvenile female riders to be part of a team riding at the forthcoming Revolution meeting in Manchester, on November 14.
