EC-CA & Writtle College Centre for Exercise and Health Cyclo-Cross Coaching Conference 2011

The Eastern Cyclo-Cross Association(EC-CA) and Writtle College’s Centre for Exercise and Health are joining forces to run a cyclo-cross coaching conference on Saturday 13 August 2011 at Writtle College, near Chelmsford.
The conference will feature a mixture of talks and hands-on practical sessions presented by some of the country’s most prominent riders and coaches. One of the key speakers will be Mark Walker, Deputy Head of the School of Sport, Equine and Animal Sciences at Writtle College. Mark’s presentation will include details of his research into pacing strategy and workload demands of competing in amateur and elite cyclo-cross. Additional sessions include practical cyclo-cross coaching, an update on cyclo-cross coaching qualifications from British Cycling Coach Education, and a discussion on the latest bikes and technological developments in cyclo-cross.
The organisers, Mark Wyer (Chair of the EC-CA) and Mark Walker are hoping this will become an annual event attracting delegates from all over the country.
