Busy Weekend for Members

We had twelve riders on the Saturday Easy Club Run, including four juveniles (now starting at 10am from the clubroom) and there was a very productive working party busy building the excellent bike racks for the Triathlon on Sept 30.

There was also a number of members helping to marshal the Girls’ Night Out charity walk on Saturday evening.

The CycloCross season is now under way and it is great to report that three of our young riders made their debuts at Chelmsford on Sunday. In the Under 12 event Fraser Elsworth finished 14th, Matt Whitwell 22nd (5th U10) and Oliver Griggs 29th (9th U10) all out of 45 starters. These were very promising results for their first attempts at a league meeting especially as they were unceded and started from the back of the grid. In the Vets race Richard Muchmore and Mike Bowen also did us proud finishing in fifth and sixth positions respectively, with Barry Denny and Paul Barry towards the other end of the field.

CycloCross training continues for another week or two at Priory School, now starting at 6.15.
