Winter Cross Country League - ResultsHi All,
Please see attached for the results from round 2 of the Suffolk Winter (Cross Country) League. Unfortunately due to illness and dodgy Japanese engineering we fell short on ladies for a full scoring team, however we still had some great results...
Adi Barbrooke - 10th - 00:32:51
Martin Wilson - 16th - 00:33:33
Matt Shingleton - 21st - 00:34:10
Neil Hillier - 35th - 00:34:57
Iain Milligan - 53rd - 00:36:30
Jeff Agricole - 70th - 00:37:31
Julian Colman - 106th - 00:40:25
Chris Hinnit - 167th - 00:46:18
Dawn D'Amarco - 173rd (40th Lady) - 00:47:06
Nicole Moulam - 201st (59th Lady) - 00:58:14
The last three races are as follows...
Nowton Park, Bury St Edmunds. 22nd January 2012.
Ditchingham, Bungay. 19th February 2012.
Haughley Park, Stowmarket. 4th March 2012
A scoring team consists of 7 men and 3 women and the more that cross the line the more points the team gets. Of the non-running clubs we are sitting second to a combined Ipswich and Newmarket Tri club team!!
It would be fantastic to have some more of the club's female members joining us for the remaining three races so if you fancy giving it a go please let Adi Barbrooke (adibarbrooke@hotmail.com) know.

Watt Bike RacingLast winter we ran a series of Watt Bike events at the club room and we have been offered this chance again by Cycle Suffolk. FRIDAYS JAN 6, 13, 20 and 27 Doors Open 7, Action starts 7.30 There will be the chance to have a go on these super training machines, and to try your best to beat other riders over short and longer distances and competitions. Participation fee per evening will be £2 for adult members, £3 for adult guests and Under 18’s Free. Some prizes will be presented at the end of the series. It is hoped that an inter-club event will be held before the winter is over, depending on support for our events and others in Suffolk. Volunteers to help run the events would be welcome and we need lots of keen riders. MTBWe are planning to run two off-road club rides on 11th December. The will be the Regular ride and a ‘lite’ version. The regular club run starts at 9.00 and runs through to around 12.00 with an optional stop for coffee and cake at one of the cafés afterwards. The terrain will be mainly off-piste and will be technically challenging in places. The pace will be reasonable. There will also be a ‘lite’ version of the off-road club run starting at 11.00 to 12.30 where the pace will be gentler with a focus of developing bike handling skills and also an introduction into mountain biking. We may use the Red route. There will also be an optional stop coffee and cake afterwards. Alan rode to sixth place in the Devil, 13th in the Points race and 15thin the Scratch race. This lifts him to 12th in the Future Stars League and he is hoping to be invited back for Rounds 3 and 4 on January 7 and 28 respectively. Last Updated (Monday, 19 December 2011 09:21) |
