Time Trial Series 2011 – Season TicketThe organisers of the evening time trial series suggest that contestants should take advantage of the discounted season ticket price of £30 for the 22 race event. This is a saving of £14 on the full cost of the 22 races and will also help the administration of the event so that races run more smoothly.

Many people are drawn to cycling for a whole mixture of reasons and our membership now spans a very wide range of ability, age, aspirations, and areas of interest.Almost all of those members could have a go at competitive cycling if they wanted to and this applies to juvenile as well as adult members. Of course, many chose not to, and the huge growth in Sportive rides bears witness to the large number who prefer the ‘challenge’ rather than the ‘race’. But for those that would like to have a go at competitive riding I have compiled this simple guide. Last Updated (Tuesday, 13 April 2010 20:07) |

Last Updated (Wednesday, 23 December 2009 16:12) West Suffolk Wheelers At Regional CycloCross ChampionshipsIpswich Bike Club hosted the combined Eastern and South Eastern Regional CycloCross Championships at Foxhall Heath last Sunday. Fourteen year-old Alan Trolove was representing West Suffolk Wheelers in the Youth Under 16 event and rode well in slippery conditions. A group of five riders got away on the first lap, pulled along by the eventual winner, Ipswich’s Hugo Robinson. Trolove worked hard in a chasing group of three and outpaced his ‘allies’ in the closing lap to finish sixth, and third of the Eastern Region riders. This sees him go to the top of the table in the Eastern League, in which rider’s best 8 results from 13 rounds count towards the season’s total. Adrian Grimwood rode in the competitive 40-49 Veterans event and suffered a couple of crashes on the tricky descents, finishing 34th. The Ladies event ran simultaneously to the vets and Juniors, and Trish Dennison, in her first season, finished 4th, after a muddy tumble on the final lap, which saw her almost ridden over as the leaders bore down on her as she lay in the mud! Mildenhall’s Mandy Cook came fifth, with her son Matt, now riding for the API team finishing 5th overall in the Juniors (16-18 years). What did Adi do next? Click Here to find out!
