West Stow 13th june

The cool weather and strong wind reduced the entry for the latest round of the WSW & Tri evening TT series, held on the West Stow 10 mile course. The strong tailwind into assisted the riders on the opening section towards Bury St Edmunds but provided a challenge with a headwind frinish.

Junior rider Harry Paine (Glendene C finished 3rd in 24:21, 2nd placed finisher Ben Mickleburgh (Velo-velocity.co.uk) recorded 23:13 and the event winner was Dale Sturman who recorded 22:51

Farrow fastest WSW & Tri in Evening TT 6-6-13

Richard Farrow was once again the faster WSW & Tri rider in latest event the club's Evening Time Trial series, on the Little Welnetham circuit. Fastest rider on the night over the 8.5 mile course was a guest rider, Matt Shotbolt (Autostrasse). Paul Rooke (WSW & Tri) finished in third.

ECCA 10

Trisha Goulden recorded 23.29 to finish in 2nd women in the ECCA 10, held on 8th June. This event was a rerun of the postponed events (March 23rd) which was cancelled due to adverse weather.

 

Super Sprint Series - Aquathon Results

2nd round of super sprint series saw a field of 36 compete over the 200 meter swim and 3k run.

Pip more took the overall win with Tom Ames stow striders 2nd and Sean Lester 3rd.

Top lady was Sharon Perry with Ester Colman 2nd and young Casey Maggs more than holding her own in 3rd.

Great to see out Junior triathletes taking part with 8 entrys.

Evening TT Series - Farrow top WSW & Tri finisher

Richard Farrow was once again the top finishing WSW & Tri rider in the club evening TT series event, held on the Higham 10 course.

Probably the toughest course in the series, the hilly course suits Farrow's road racing background. The top three places all finished within one minute, with Ben Mickleburgh (Velovelocity.co.uk) setting the fastest time of the day (25:28), Farrow in second (25:50) and Julian Long (WSW & Tri) finishing third (26:09)

The next event in the series is held on Thursday 6th June on the Lt. Welnetham 9.8 mile TT course.

  • The West Suffolk Wheelers cycling club was formed in 1922 and is based in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. We have a good cross-section of cycling on offer to welcome new and experienced cyclists alike.
