Sharon Perry earns world champs qualification

Yesterday at the box end aquathon Bedford Sharon Perry came 5th in her age group representing West Suffolk wheelers & Tri club to qualify for the world aquathon championships on 11th September in Hyde Park London.

Great performance Sharon becoming our fourth member on the Tri side to get national recognition.

Welwyn Track League 26th April

WSW & Tri Youth riders Sam Asker and Fraser Elsworth both placed in handicap races in the first Welwyn league meeting in 2013. A record entry of 44 youth riders saw exciting and competitive racing across all categories.

3-lap handicap: 1 Sophie Lewis (CC Ashwell), 2 Sam Gage (Welwyn Wheelers), 3 Lauren Higham (Welwyn Wheelers)

3-lap handicap: 1 Higham, 2 Fraser Elsworth (West Suffolk Wheelers), 3 Ben Griffin (Welwyn Wheelers)

4-lap handicap: 1 Higham, 2 Joe Kiely (Welwyn Wheelers), 3 Imogen Chastell (Welwyn Wheelers)

Farrow makes it Four - Lt Welnetham 8.9 mile TT 25/4/13

With a few days of warm weather attracting a bumper entry, 43 riders took part in the 8.9 mile Little Welnetham time trial course. This included five youth riders. Finishing in 3rd place was Pip Moore in 23.55, 2nd place finisher was Lee Sturman in 22.46 and winning his fourth club event in a row by 32 seconds in 22.14 was Richard Farrow.

  • The West Suffolk Wheelers cycling club was formed in 1922 and is based in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. We have a good cross-section of cycling on offer to welcome new and experienced cyclists alike.
