Philips takes win in torrential rain!

Only nine riders braved the torrential rain for the West Suffolk Wheelers latest time trial event.  Due to the poor light the race was reduced from 21 to 12 miles and local fastman Brian Phillips of East Grinstead CC came out the winner with a time of 27mins 26secs.

West Stow TT - 6th June

Sturman wins with a personal best

Dale Sturman continued on his winning streak with a personal best time of 22mins 54secs on the West Stow 10 mile circuit in the recent West Suffolk Wheelers Evening Time Trial Series event held on 7th June.

Lackford 9.8 Mile TT - 24th May 07

Phillips takes win on Lackford 9.8 mile circuit

Brian Phillips of the East Grinstead Cycling Club continued his return to top form with an impressive win on a make-shift 9.8 mile Lackford course at the recent West Suffolk Wheelers Evening time trial series event.

Gt Whelnetham TT - 17th May

Sturman wins with a Course Record

In near perfect conditions on a still and humid evening Dale Sturman won the latest West Suffolk Wheelers time trial on 17th May with a course record of 20mins 55secs on the 8.5 mile Gt Whelnetham circuit.

About the West Suffolk Wheelers
  • The West Suffolk Wheelers cycling club was formed in 1922 and is based in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. We have a good cross-section of cycling on offer to welcome new and experienced cyclists alike. If you wish to learn bike handling skills for on and/or off-road cycling our members have the knowledge and experience to teach you. The Club is proud of it's development work with young people, and we have coaches to guide new cyclists in their training. We are active in all areas of cycling including: Road Racing, Time Trials, Track Racing, Club Runs,Touring, Audax, Sportive, Mountain Biking and Cyclo-cross.
