Saturday morning open water swim

Chris Wiseman and Mary Leaver will be arranging Saturday morning open water swim sessions at Fritton Lake http://www.fritton-lake-triathlon.co.uk/lakeswim.php

Meet at Ixworth Village Hall Car Park - which is in the main High Street behind big open iron gates almost opposite the village shop - for prompt 07.00 am departure down the A143. Car sharing will be used to take people who turn up for a charge of £2 per person, driver being free.

Dates: Saturdays: 12th May, 26th May, 23rd June, 14th July, 11th August, 1st September, 22nd September, 13th October

There are tea\coffee facilities, changing rooms, and hot showers.

This is the first multisport event hosted by West Suffolk Wheelers And Triathlon Club, ENJOY!

The Duathlon is based at Beyton Middle School in the village of Beyton. The village is between Bury and Stowmarket close to J46 of the A14.

4.4km RUN - 21.8km BIKE - 4.4km RUN

There will be a official British Triathlon Federation Referee on site through out the event.

Runners will start in four waves of up to 30. The run course leaves the school on lanes for an anti clockwise loop. Back on at the school collect your bike for two laps of the bike course, taking in the village of Thurston, Blackthorpe and Rougham

Benedorm half marathon

Two Triathletes from West Suffolk Tri Club took part in the Benidorm Half Marathon last week,Despite heavy rain & cold winds ,Nicky Brinkmann finnished 7th Female & 1st in age group in 1h-29mins-17 secs.
James Heath finnished 12th in age group in 1h-24mins-47secs,out of 2500 starters.
It was a great end to a busy season as Nicky took home a Trophey & some prize money.

Ballbuster for some but better than Bala!!

A Ball buster indeed but not for the West Suffolk duo who, at the weekend successfully completed one of the toughest Duathlons around. The 8 mile run / 3x 8 mile bike / and 8 mile run known as the Ballbuster took place on Saturday at box hill near Dorking in surrey.
380 of the registered competitors turned up to start the race and 347 of them completed it with some extremely fine athletes posting some amazing times.

This is a five race series which our club has entered into.

Points over the series are taken for the first 7 male and first 3 Female team members over the line.
