Top Age Category Finish for Angela Joiner-Handy
West Suffolk Wheeler & Triathlon Club member Angela Joiner- Handy competed in the prestigious and highly competitive Clumber Park Duathlon held on Saturday in Notts.
Competing in the Standard Distance (10k run/40k bike ride/5k run) the race also doubled up as one of 3 Age Group Qualification events for the ITU World Championships Standard Distance Duathlon to be held in Pontevera in Spain on the 31st May 2014.
Despite the cold and windy conditions, Angela posted a superb set of times, completing Run 1 in 41:50; transition 1 in 1:09; Bike Ride 1:13:04; T2 in 1:11; R2 in 21:50 to complete the event in an aggregate time of 2:19:03.

Top 8 Finish for Andy Sewell
Andy Sewell raced to hard a fought 8th in the MK Bowl crit race (4th category) on Saturday.
Over a timed short course race of 50 minutes plus 5 laps on a breezy course, Andy maintained close contact with the leaders throughout almost the entire race. With 1 lap remaining he found himself boxed in and despite missing the initial final uphill surge to the line still retained enough power to reel the lead group in and finish a commendable 8th, having averaged an impressive sped of 24.5mph, and just 3 seconds behind the leader.
Plomesgate Time Trial
David Young, Gerry Barton, Mark Eastwood and Ron Back entered the Plomesgate 10 mile Time Trial held on Saturday on an out and back course between Sudbourne and the former Bentwaters base.
On a course made difficult by the intermittent hail, wind and cold David Young was first Wheeler to finish (34th) in 28:00; Mark Eastwood (36th) in 29:14 and Gerry Barton (37th) in 30:45. Ron Back did not start.
