Age Group Success for Ron Back

West Suffolk Wheeler & Triathlon Club member Ron Back produced a superb ride to finish 1st in his age group standard at the Veteran Time Trial Association’s 25 mile time trial held on Saturday.

Beginning at the Stecthworth roundabout  on Saturday, the 2 lap circuit took riders south of Newmarket, the second lap of which was into the south easterly breeze and finished with a long incline uphill from 6 Mile Bottom to the finish.

Ron recorded an impressive 1:07:54, whilst club mate David Howse in his 1st time trial over this distance finished in 1:10:47.

Henry Wood and Gerry Barton also rode in their first 2 up time trial over this distance, and will be pleased with their joint time of 1:19:37.

Ixworth Crit - Help needed to deliver leaflets

Help is needed to do the resident leaflet drop in the village, we are hoping to get it done next Satuday 5th April.

We will be putting the new banners up as well, so if you could spare a hour or two about from 9-30 next Saturday, we will be meeting at the A143 at Ixworth, where the banner was located in previous year. Or let Neville Pettitt know if you can help.

Taking part in events

Due to many questions being asked on FB and other social media networks regarding:

  • Road racing how do I get into it ; what is required
  • Time Trials ; Track racing and Club Time Trials in the coming season
  • Where to look for races ; how to enter ; racing etiquette and also a section on youth racing

The answers to these question can be found at the Club HQ, Wednesday 16th April  at 7o’clock

I hope you all can find time to attend as this will help you get the most out of the coming year ahead, triathletes as well as cyclists
