Max super sprint trophy points for Darren & Hannah

West Suffolk Wheelers & Triathlon club put on their first Go Tri event of the season on Friday 25th April at Rougham primary school. The Duathlon which is a run, bike, run. was won by Darren Sharman in 24 mins 17 seconds, closely followed Simon Daniel (Boxford bike club) and Scott Williams (Stow striders) 3rd.  First lady in was Hannah McInory Naylor in 26:14 with Emily Baker 2nd & Ester Colman 3rd. For both Simon & Emily and three other competitors of the 17 participant this was their first multi sport event, which is exactly what the Go Tri concept is all about. Having a series of 4 short events, which are open to anyone to enter, making triathlon accessible to "have a go" in a friendly, and bite sized way.

The remaining three events are lised below, come and join in.

11th July – Duathlon at Rougham Primary School

30th May & 15th August – Aquathon at Moreton Hall Health Club

Upminster Junior Aquathlon

Tristar 1 pair Hugo Thorneley and Charlie Knowler braved a cold but sunny morning over the Easter weekend to take part in the TriSport Epping Junior Aquathlon at Coopers School in Upminster, the second event in the Eastern Region league. The enthusiastic youngsters took part in a hotly contested race over 150 metres in the pool followed by a 1200 metres run. Both improved on their Basildon placings with Charlie finishing 6th boy and Hugo, taking part in only his second ever event, finishing 10th boy. Well done boys!
