UCI Para-cycling Road World Cup
Brian Alldis finished 15th in the latest round of the UCI Paracycling Road World Cup in Italy. Finishing the time trial 2 minutes down on the leader he was pleased with his performance but disappointed to not make top 10.
However, in the road race event, Brian finished in 10th place. Starting well in the 45 mile road he remained in the pack until the last lap when he lost contact with the group, completing the race in 1h 59 mins 20 seconds
This 10th place earns the GB team 1 point towards more spaces at the Paralympics.
Junior triathlon - Top 3 finish for Charlie Knowler
West Suffolk Wheelers & Triathlon Club junior member Charlie Knowler competed in round 2 of the London series triathlon at Harrow on Sunday.
Comprising of a 165m pool swim, 2km bike ride and 1.2km run held around a course at Harrow Arts Centre and Hatch End Pool, Charlie raced well in his Tristar -1 age category (ages 9-10). Having survived congestion in the pool, Charlie made up good ground on the bike to take him into run transition a strong 2nd overall, and a fine final run leg saw him place 3rd overall.
Open Time trials
West Suffolk Wheelers & Triathlon Club member Trish Goulden rode in the Lea Valley CC 10mile time trial at 6 Mile Bottom on Saturday.
On an exposed course buffeted by strong westerly winds, Trish faced the return leg from Newmarket to 6 Mile Bottom with grim determination and was rewarded with a commendable 25 minutes 32 seconds to place 2nd lady.
Local rider Paul Jay of Bury St. Edmunds based Velovelocity finished the same event in 23:23.

The first race of the Lotus Cars Cycle Race League 2014 season took place on the 7th May at the Lotus headquarters in Hethel which saw 2 Wheelers take part.

Meanwhile, in the Youth A/B (Under 16/U14) category, Sam Asker continues with his fine progress across all chosen disciplines and raced well to place 7th out of a field of 17.
