MTB: MSG Series Round 2, Codham Hall, 21 April 2013

In complete contrast to last year's conditions, the circuit was hard and dry and sun block rather than umbrellas was the order of the day for spectators. There were 7 WSW&T members competing.

In the Under 12 Boys, Matthew Whitwell competing in his first race of the season finished 20th. Robin Lines finished 13th in the Youth Male race despite having to ride most of the race without a rear brake after suffering a mechanical with the hydraulic cylinder. Rhys Holland-Jones made a promising debut in XC mountain biking finishing 6th in the Juvenile category.

In the afternoon session, Paul Watson recorded the club's best result finishing 6th in a strong Grand Veterans field. Malcolm Macfarlane finished 23rd in the same race. In the Masters race, Malcolm Borg managed to make 12th having to come back from a first lap puncture. In the Veteran's race, Darren Davis (2nd Claim) started well but retired on lap 3 whilst contesting a top 10 placing. We don't have any further information on the cause of his retirement.
