Racing
Fantastic racing this weekend from some of the Juniors.Firstly congratulations to Fraser Elsworth who finished second overall U12 in the Gas Hill gasp in Norwich on Friday evening with a superb performance. He came through the heats with a comprehensive victory to finish second in the final race. Sam Asker won the runners up race convincingly to finish 5th after narrowly missing out on the final, finishing 3rd in his qualifying heat. A late night for the boys was followed by an early start at Hog Hill on Saturday. Victoria Asker fresh from her Supersprint Tri event on Friday night was first off in the under 8s. She held the wheel of the leading girl for the whole race before passing her on the final lap to finish first girl U8 by a country mile. Then in the under 12s some fantastic teamwork and bunch riding and with an average of over 20 mph put Fraser Elsworth and Sam Asker in contention for a final sprint up Hog Hill. Some real effort saw the boys finish 4th and 3rd respectively. Well done guys and girls fantastic effort. Last Updated (Thursday, 14 November 2013 12:27) |

Last Updated (Thursday, 14 November 2013 17:32) 1st Bury Park RunThree WSW & Tri runners took part in the first Parkrun in Bury St Edmunds. These free, weekly timed 5km runs are organised by volunteers in locations all over the UK, and the event in Nowton Park was the first in Bury St Edmunds. 160 competitors lined up to enjoy two laps of a 2.5km course around the park. The wide, open track and sections through the wooded areas provided plenty of variety for the runners and good conditions for running. Even the weather played it's part, with the warm summers morning making for great running conditions. Faster Wheeler around the 5km course was Phil Clarke (21:22) finishing in 21st place, followed 51 seconds later by Ian Pettitt (22:13) who finished in 30th position. David Leaver finished in 47th place (24:08). The full results were available the same day on the website. For anyone who is interested in taking part, the events are free and there is no need to enter in advance, just turn up and run. However, you must register on the website before the event to get your barcode, which is scanned when finishing the event to match your time to you. When registering, please select West Suffolk Wheelers and Triathlon Club as you team/club, then your results will appear on our club results page. Last Updated (Thursday, 14 November 2013 17:40) |
