We have a thriving Triathlon section catering for all abilities from GB age groupers to complete novices, for adults and children. Membership gives access to a wide range of coached and group swimming, biking, and running sessions.Our various training sessions and events cover all 12 months of the year, come along and give us a try. WSW & TC are affiliated to Triathlon England and new and existing club members are encouraged to join to take advantage of the benefits that membership offers.

Suffolk Winter Cross Country League Run by Suffolk Athletics this is series of five races across Suffolk from Oct - March, There are points & trophies for all ages categories and overall club points to compete for. You have to wear club colours to run. Open to all abilities. GO TRIWe arrange Go Tri races during the year which are very short distance events, great as an entry into multisports or to fund tune your transition or race practice. Races will be published when arranged.

European Triathlon ChampionshipsPontevedra, Spain 25th / 26th June 2011 Anne and Grayhame Fish, members of West Suffolk Wheelers and Triathlon Club, have just returned from the European Triathlon Age Group Championships in Pontevedra (Spain). Anne competing in the Sprint distance of 750 metres swim, 19 km cycle and 5 km run picked up the Silver medal after overtaking the bronze medal holder in sight of the finishing line. All three medals in the female 60 to 64 age group were won by GB triathletes and it was Anne’s first medal at such events. Anne’s time was 17:04 for the swim, 44:14 for the hilly cycle and 26;00 for the run, with transition 1 and 2 making a total of 1 hr 32 mins 18 secs. Grayhame came 11th out of 14 triathletes in the male age group sprint, in a time of 1:27:24. Last Updated (Saturday, 27 August 2011 06:32) British Gas Great East Open Water Swim, Alton WaterSaturday 11th June dawned a beautiful sunny day, calm and warm, just right for the Tuesday Swimming Club of West Suffolk Wheelers and Tri Club to test their muscles in Open Water at Alton Water.Everybody had a degree of nerves, some more than most. Marc Verzijl, one of our most competent swimmers (1 mile - 2nd in his ‘wave’ and 4th in his age group) admitted he had never done open water in a wet suit before – baptism of fire, fun getting it on and off isn’t it Marc? Last Updated (Monday, 04 July 2011 11:48) Congratulations Julia JepsonAlthough not competing under 'Wheelers' colours this time around a special congrats to Julia Jepson who was also racing in the Dambuster. Julia crossed the finish line in 2:34:23, 355th overall and a fantastic 3rd in age group and took away a comemorative silver platter, bronze medal and most importantly a bottle of red wine not to mention age group honours. Julia will be representing her GB age group at the ETU Triathlon Championships in Eilat in 2012. This British Triathlon Championship race was a feature race in the triathlon calendar this year being both a World and European Championship qualifier and attracted the best triathletes in the country outside the elite stage.
