SSS - Run night

Just a reminder that tonight is running night!  Leaving the Club Room at 18:45 for an easy pace 5km lap then, for those that wish to, a further lap 'at your own pace'.  See you all there...   Adi Barbrooke.

Wednesday SSS will be Duathlon at Rougham

SSS Results - Livermere Duathlon

A very pleasant evening saw our biggest turnout this year for the Super Sprint Series.  Tonights event was a Duathlon at Livermere.  In first place was Phil Clarke, 2nd was Neil Hillier and 3rd Lee French.  Our first lady to take part in the series was Nicole Gregory (hope that's right, had trouble reading the handwriting!) who now leads the ladies competition!  See attached for full results...

The Great East Swim

The postponed Great Eastern Open Water Swim took place last Sunday 17th June when the winds had calmed and we had a beautiful, perky, sunny day.

On arrival we found that our 'wave' times had changed and so had the direction of the swim.  The buoys were placed clockwise instead of anti to adjust for wind and currents and water temperature, 13.5 degrees.  Flexibility is the name of the game!

When our colour waves were due and swimming caps with time chips donned, we assembled in the start area for a quick familiarisation dip and a welcome and good luck from a 2012 Olympic Open Water Swimmer and the head of the Suffolk CC. The claxon sounded and we all ran, ambled, or staggered over the pebbles and into the water.

The swim of 1 mile felt very long, with hands and feet and the bobbing hats of other swimmers all around.  As each buoy was passed it seemed as if new buoys were being laid ahead and even when the final ones of bright orange hove into sight they also appeared to keep moving further back.

We all received medals and tee shirts and congratulations to:

Super Sprint Series 13th June

This Wednesdays Super Sprint is a training Run from the clubhouse again.

The Super Sprint series has been very entertaining for all. Like the Time Trial series we have had to cancel a couple due to the weather.

Once again the victor was Phil Clarke, that's a total of 4 he has won this season and he tops the mens leader board.

2. James Berry
3. Kevin Bradley
4. Lee Sole and Julian Colman.

Next weeks event ( Weds 20th June )is the popular Livermere course.
