Clacton Duathlon
The Clacton Children's Off-Road Duathlon took place on Saturday 6 September. Conditions were good for the penultimate race in the Eastern Region league held at a coastal venue which features a slightly more rugged and testing bike leg than other junior league events. Three Wheelers juniors took part. In the Tristar 1 race (age 9 - 10, 1.2k run / 2k bike / 0.4k run) Charlie Knowler finished 3rd overall (13m 48s) and Thomas Curtis finished 39th (19m 17s). In the Tristar 2 race (age 11 -12, 1.6k run / 4k bike / 0.6k run) Oscar Woodward finshed 10th boy (23m 29s).

NORTH SEA CYCLE ROUTE - The First Instalment
On Saturday August 23rd Darren and I will head off into the great unknown and follow the shores of the North Sea from Holland to Denmark. A round trip going out from Harwich to Holland and returning from Denmark to Harwich after approx. 1000 miles of beer houses, nudist beaches, vegetarian (Darren) and animal protein rich meals (myself).
In order not to traumatise ourselves by too rapid an entry into foreign customs and ways we will refresh ourselves at the well-known destination cafe, Maglia Rosa, conveniently situated in Hawstead a few miles south of Bury St Edmunds. With its large selection of coffees, patisseries and..(that's enough - this is not a free ad. ED).
We will be there at 1400 hours and would welcome the opportunity to show any fellow Wheeler our back-sides as we head off - or even welcome anyone who felt like riding with us for a while. But as I will be on my 1957 fixie do not expect the smell of burnt rubber as we set off!!
To enable you to follow our progress - or the lack thereof my old blog has been reactivated : sorensidevind.blogspot.com
